Ciccio Mio: Reviews & Ratings
I can’t say enough good things about this place! The highlight of my meal was the ricotta gnocchi — hands down the best I’ve ever had. They were light, pillowy, and practically melted in my mouth with every bite. You could really taste the freshness and quality in every piece, and the sauce complemented them perfectly without being too heavy. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was just as wonderful as the food. If you’re looking for authentic Italian with a touch of elegance, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I’ll be coming back just for those gnocchi!
We had an amazing dinner at Ciccio Mio during our trip to Chicago. It’s in the Michelin guide, and it definitely lived up to it. We ordered the carbonara, the amatriciana, the mushroom carbonara, and some bread — everything was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. We were seated at the front bar, and it was still a great experience. Our waitress, Christina, was wonderful — very friendly and attentive, which made the night even better. We wanted to try dessert but we were so full… so that will be for next time. We’d definitely come back!
Ciccio Mio Hands down top 3 Italian restaurant in Chicago in my opinion. From start to finish, Ciccio Mio was an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely stunning lighting was dim and intimate, cozy atmosphere perfect for a wedding anniversary celebration. We celebrated our 7th anniversary here, and the staff went above and beyond to make it feel extra special. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive some of the best servers we've had at a restaurant in a very long time. The food was simply incredible. We started with amazing bread and oil with homemade pickled veggies. We also ordered the mushroom carbonara which had phenomenal flavors, mushrooms cooked perfectly. (All pastas is made fresh in house) My beautiful wife ordered the spicy vodka rigatoni dish, I ordered the Cacio e Pepe, both dishes were bursting with flavors the rigatoni with the spicy creamy vodka sauce with the fresh pasta was amazing. The attention to detail in both the service and cuisine made this meal stand out, I can't wait to come back and try so many other dishes... Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional Italian dining experience or if in need for a celebration restaurant, Ciccio Mio is the spot! 100% recommend!
This restaurant may be my new Italian favorite! Every dish we tried did not disappoint and it was absolutely delicious. I recommend coming with a small group only so you can order more items and share food. We had a vegetarian and a dairy free friend in our group - and they left very happy! The atmosphere was cozy and the service staff was super friendly. We were also celebrating a birthday and they took care of our birthday girl! Cannot wait to go back, 5 stars all around!
The antipasti’s pickle is sooo good, perfect balance. Lasagna, as highly recommended, worth trying, not cheesy, not heavy. Short ribs are relatively normal, nothing special. Well, maybe is winter time, not a lot of options for entree, but a little easier for reservations. Tried Bellini and Milano Cosmo, recommend Bellini, peach and prosecco combined, supper fresh, especially enjoying with some heavy meal. There’s a really unforgettable antique and relaxing vibe in this restaurant. My waitress Jessica is very helpful and fully knowledgeable on foods they provide and a pleasant person.
So many places that are hard to get reservations at are overhyped and underdeliver- not this one. Went in a group of 4 for a friends birthday we ordered just under half the menu. The hostess was nice enough to change our table to make it extra special and we had a great booth. It’s a beautiful dimly lit place that was surprisingly small but not crowded, just full. We’re there for almost 3 hours as we had about 10 dishes off the menu. Our server Jess (?) was super professional and helpful. For starters we had the Caesar salad, burrata and the beef tartare. Winner:beef tartare Then for pasta we had the lasagna, truffle mafaldine and spicy rigatoni. Winner: Mafaldine Seafood: salmon tiradito and scampi- tie. We had the short rib and the mushroom carbonara for a side- GET THE MUSHROOMS Overall I definitely want to go back next time I’m in town
We came here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and they made it so special. In summary: the food was amazing, the staff were so kind and welcoming, the seating was intimate but comfortable, and the ambience was warm and inviting. I thought Gilt Bar next door was an extension to this place since they’re owned by the same people and have the exact same menu but, in comparison, Gilt Bar’s ambience and staff are so much worse. The food: we ordered Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, the Ricotta Gnocchi, and the Mushroom Carbonara. I would say the Rigatoni was the best but all were delicious. If I had to choose one dish, I would choose the Rigatoni. The drinks: their Espresso Martini is one of the strongest drinks I’ve ever had… almost to the point where it’s not as enjoyable? The staff really make this place. They placed such a nice note on our table for our celebration and even gave us roses. The hostess was the sweetest person ever and our waiter was helpful and friendly. 10/10 would recommend this place for a cute date night. I would definitely recommend it here over Gilt Bar. Don’t be confused by the similar menus. These places are worlds apart.
A first-time visit to Ciccio Mio was an absolute delight. We were seated outside and, with the weather being so pleasant, it made for a perfect dining experience. Our server was absolutely terrific—attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. From start to finish, the food was flawless. There wasn't a single dish we could complain about. I would absolutely give it a second try.
